I heard “I will Always Love You” for the first time in the living room of the home most of my family shared. It was powerful. It was gracious. It was who Whitney Houston was: beautiful.

I heard “Someday We’ll All Be Free” while watching Donny’s episode of Unsung a couple years ago. It was soulful. It was breathtaking. It was who Donny Hathaway was: Gifted.

Someday my home will be filled with the sounds of these three amazing Black musicians. I will be listening to them loudly and happily. They are nothing short of Legendary.
